B1 Listening Practice Test 2

Anna: Hello, is that the Riverside Photography Club? I saw your poster at the library. Frank: Yes, it is. I'm Frank, the organiser. Are you interested in joining? Anna: I think so. I've been taking pictures on my phone for years, but I've never had any lessons. Frank: That's fine. Most of our members are beginners. We meet every Wednesday at six, and on the first Saturday of each month we go on a photo walk. Anna: Do I need an expensive camera? Frank: Not at all. Some people just use their phones, which is perfectly fine. Membership is thirty pounds a year, but the first month is free if you come to a trial session. Anna: Great. Could I come this Wednesday? Frank: Actually, this week's meeting has been moved to Thursday because the hall is being painted. It's the same time, though. Anna: No problem. Thursday at six, then. Should I bring anything? Frank: Just a few of your best photos, so we can talk about them.

Dr. Adams: Emma, I've read your plan for the recycling project. It's very good. Emma: Thank you. We'd like to put three coloured bins in every classroom, one for paper, one for plastic bottles and one for cans. Dr. Adams: Three bins in thirty classrooms is quite expensive. Who will pay? Emma: We've asked the parents' association, and they've agreed to pay for half. We hope to raise the rest with a cake sale. Dr. Adams: When would you like to start? Emma: As soon as possible, but we can't begin until the bins arrive. The shop says that will be in two weeks. Dr. Adams: I suggest starting with the first floor only, to see how it goes. If it works, we can do the whole school next term. Emma: That makes sense. We're also making posters to show which items go in which bin. Dr. Adams: Excellent. Show me the posters on Friday, and I'll tell you if the colours are clear enough.

Henry: What are you cooking for your grandfather's birthday, Grace? Grace: I was going to make lamb stew, but he's trying to eat less meat now, so I've decided on a vegetable dish instead. Henry: Like what? Grace: Stuffed peppers with rice and herbs. They're easy, although they take about an hour in the oven. Henry: Sounds great. Have you bought everything? Grace: Almost. I still need red peppers and fresh mint. The market closes at five, so I'll go straight after school. Henry: I could help with the dessert if you like. I make a really good apple cake. Grace: That would be wonderful, but he can't eat nuts, so please don't put any walnuts in it. Henry: No problem. I'll bake it on Friday evening. Grace: Perfect. Dinner is at seven on Saturday, but come at six to help me set the table.
