Grace: Hello, Brightside Computer Repairs, Grace speaking.
Jack: Hi Grace, it's Jack Morgan. I dropped off a laptop last Thursday, the one with the cracked screen? You said it would be ready by Tuesday.
Grace: Ah yes, Mr Morgan. I'm afraid I've got slightly disappointing news. The replacement screen we ordered turned out to be the wrong size, so the supplier has had to send another one. It should arrive on Thursday, which means we can't finish before Friday.
Jack: Friday? That's a problem, honestly. I've got a presentation on Thursday morning, and my slides are all on that laptop.
Grace: I see. Are your files backed up anywhere?
Jack: Most of them are in the cloud, but the slides aren't, I'm afraid. I kept meaning to upload them.
Grace: Okay, here's what we can do. My colleague can copy the slides onto a memory stick for you, free of charge, and you can collect it any time before five tomorrow. Or, alternatively, we have a loan laptop you could borrow, though there's a ten pound deposit.
Jack: The memory stick sounds simpler. I'd rather not carry another computer around. Is the repair still eighty-five pounds?
Grace: Yes, that hasn't changed. Just pop in before five tomorrow.
Jack: Will do. Thanks for being so helpful.
