Write a paragraph for your school magazine. Give your opinion about homework. Say whether it helps students, give two reasons or examples, and suggest one change that would make homework better.

Model answer: In my opinion, homework helps students when it is short and useful. Firstly, practising at home makes new vocabulary and grammar easier to remember. For example, I never forget words that I have used in a short writing task. Secondly, homework teaches us to organise our time, which is important for our future. However, too much homework can make students tired, and some of them stop enjoying their lessons. If teachers gave less homework but made it more interesting, students would do it more carefully. I would like to see projects and creative tasks instead of long lists of exercises. To sum up, homework is a good tool, although it needs to be used wisely.
